BAS Agent on the Mornington Peninsula

Our registered BAS agents prepare and lodge your quarterly or monthly BAS — and your monthly IAS — accurately and on time. No more wrestling with the ATO portal or racing a deadline.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

BAS & IAS Lodgement, Handled Start to Finish

Your BAS is only as good as the books behind it. As registered BAS agents, we reconcile your accounts, check your GST coding and PAYG figures, prepare your statement and lodge it with the ATO on your behalf — and you approve everything before it goes in.

Quarterly & Monthly BAS

Prepared from fully reconciled books and lodged with the ATO before the due date.

Monthly IAS

PAYG withholding and instalment activity statements for businesses that lodge monthly.

GST Coding Checks

Every transaction checked so you claim the GST credits you are entitled to — and nothing you are not.

PAYG Withholding & Instalments

Withholding figures matched to your payroll and STP data, with instalments reported correctly.

Adjustments & Corrections

Prior-period errors and adjustments fixed properly with the right journals, not patched over.

ATO Lodgement & Liaison

Lodged through Online services for agents, with ATO queries about your statements handled for you.

SMART CHOICES

Why Local Businesses Hand Their BAS to Us

Lodging your own BAS can look simple — until a quarter goes wrong. Here are three situations we help with all the time, and how a registered BAS agent changes the outcome.

01

Behind on a Few Quarters

Overdue BAS can attract failure-to-lodge penalties and unwanted ATO attention. We bring your books up to date, lodge the outstanding statements in order and help you talk to the ATO about any debt that comes with them.

02

From DIY to Done for You

Owners who lodge their own BAS often lose a full day each quarter double-checking figures. We take the whole process off your plate — you simply review the numbers and approve.

03

Hiring Your First Staff

Taking on employees adds PAYG withholding to your activity statements. We set it up correctly from your first pay run and make sure your BAS figures match what you report through Single Touch Payroll.

OUR PROCESS

How BAS Lodgement Works With Us

01

Review

We look over your books, software and lodgement history, and confirm your reporting cycle and due dates.

02

Reconcile

We reconcile your bank accounts, check GST coding and match payroll figures before anything is prepared.

03

Prepare & Approve

We prepare your BAS or IAS and walk you through the figures so you can approve them with confidence.

04

Lodge & Stay Ahead

We lodge with the ATO, confirm the amount payable and due date, and keep you ahead of the next one.

Your Local BAS Agent in Mornington

Double Balance is based on Main Street, Mornington, and our registered BAS agents work with businesses right across the Mornington Peninsula — from Frankston and Mount Eliza to Hastings, Rosebud and Sorrento. You deal with the same local team every quarter, never a call centre.

Need your everyday books looked after too? See our bookkeeping services in Mornington.

Why Use a Registered BAS Agent?

Only registered BAS agents and tax agents can legally charge a fee to prepare and lodge your BAS. Our agents are registered with the Tax Practitioners Board (BAS agent number 25996917), stay across changes to GST and PAYG rules, and follow the Code of Professional Conduct — so your lodgements are accurate, compliant and done properly.

Working Hand in Hand With Your Accountant

Accurate BAS lodgements all year round make tax time far easier. We work directly with your accountant, so your year-end figures line up with what has already been reported to the ATO — fewer surprises, fewer amendments and far less back and forth.

BAS FAQS

BAS Agent Questions, Answered

A registered BAS agent prepares and lodges your business activity statements, instalment activity statements and related reports with the ATO, and can deal with the ATO on your behalf about them. Our BAS agents are registered with the Tax Practitioners Board.

For quarterly lodgers, BAS is generally due on the 28th of the month after the quarter ends — except the December quarter, which is due on 28 February. Lodging through a registered agent can give you extra time on some quarters. We will confirm your exact dates.

Yes. If you lodge monthly instalment activity statements for PAYG withholding or PAYG instalments, we prepare and lodge those too.

Absolutely — no judgement. We bring your books up to date, lodge your overdue statements and, if there is a debt, help you work out a payment plan with the ATO.

Not separately. Our team does both, so the books behind your BAS are kept accurate and up to date all year.

We work with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online, and use Dext and Hubdoc to capture receipts and bills.

We work on fixed monthly packages based on the size and complexity of your business, so you know the cost upfront. Get in touch for a free consultation and quote.

Britt has been an integral part of getting our Xero up to date, initially we were running our own payroll and processing our bills, it was cumbersome and took too much time. Double balance has allowed us to step back and grow our business. Highly recommend

Exceptional Bookkeeping Service - Couldn't Be Happier! I've been working with the double balance team for over 5 years now, and I can honestly say they've been a game-changer for my business. From day one, they've kept me completely up-to-date on all my financial matters and have taken so much stress off my shoulders. What I appreciate most is their reliability and attention to detail. They're always on top of deadlines, provide clear and timely reports, and make tax season a breeze instead of the nightmare it used to be. The peace of mind they've given me over these 5+ years is invaluable. I can focus on growing my business knowing that my books are in expert hands. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any business owner.
